AT HOME WITH EDILKA ANDERSON
What is the best way to start in a new home? We asked our partner and interior design expert Edilka Anderson in Toronto. She gathered a few tips while furnishing her new family home, and she shares them with us in this home story.
STUDY: MORE HOME THAN OFFICE
As a businesswoman, Edilka also has work to do after hours. She also appreciates the home office option to spend more time with her children. ‘Whether someone works from home permanently or only part of the time, it is very worthwhile to make this workplace as pleasant and as aesthetic as possible."
Edilka has given her study a special touch: "I love the violet-coloured sofa “Night Fever” with its flowing forms!“
SMALL ACTS
Eyecatcher: Edilka found many of her favourite pieces of furniture and accessories at KARE Toronto. Whether mirrors or pictures as wall decorations, eye-catchers draw attention in a room, emphasising architectural features such as a fireplace or skilfully enhancing empty walls and corners.
FAVOURITE COLOURS AS A CONCEPT
When it comes to the selection of colours and materials, Edilka also focuses on individuality. She uses black and white as a neutral basis, which she rounds off with accent colours such as nude and gold. Edilka style combines the materials wood and metal, which gives the rooms their own personality.
